Checks English (US and UK) spelling when the system has no spellchecker or no English dictionary, as on Linux.
Permissions
No permissions. It cannot use the network, the clipboard or your files, and only sees what Typora hands it.
Data only. Typora applies its data (rules, templates, settings). No extension code runs.

- en-US, en-GB — used when the system spellchecker lacks the language

English Spelling Dictionaries
Checks English (US and UK) spelling when the system has no spellchecker or no English dictionary, as on Linux.
Pick en-US or en-GB in Settings ▸ Editor ▸ Spelling Language. The Hunspell dictionaries come from typora/dict.typora.io; each folder under dictionaries/ has its LICENSE.
